For the manufacturing industry "quality" is the most important keyword of all. But to judge quality, some sort of measuring or testing is necessary. At Nidec-Read we develop, design and produce test equipment, thereby providing manufacturers with an essential yardstick for assessing quality.
The testing equipment we produce is targeted toward manufacturers of printed circuit boards, semiconductor packages, display panels, and the like. These are core products of today's sophisticated IT devices, including telecommunications equipment and digital appliances, which are rapidly growing in popularity.
Advances in printed circuit boards, semiconductor packages, and display panels are occurring with astounding speed, and increasingly higher levels of precision requiring state-of-the-art technology are being demanded of testing equipment as well. Nidec-Read Corporation has a large share of the market for such equipment. Many of our products have come to be recognized as "de facto standards" in the industry.
The "Read" in our company name contains the sense of "reading" the latest developments in electronics and "reading" the times. As experts in testing equipment for the electronics field, we see our mission as one of constantly striving to create new technology and to produce products that anticipate the needs of the times. For example, we were the world's first to commercialize optical probes for practical applications. This is a key non-contact testing technology that helps meet the industry's demand for ever finer precision. As an R&D-driven company, we are constantly developing and refining new technologies. Our aim is to anticipate and develop the new testing technologies that our customers require.
The scope of applications for our technology is expanding in markets with strong future growth potential. Examples include the automotive field, where the use of electronics continues to grow, and the medical electronics field. As a member of the Nidec Group, we will continue to develop new technologies, move into new fields through the horizontal extension of technology, and work to develop new markets and customers through aggressive overseas expansion. In these ways we hope to establish worldwide de facto standards for an even broader range of testing applications.
I look forward to your continued support and patronage as we work toward the achievement of this goal.
